Cougars host the three-day meet at home
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team returns to their home pool this week as they host the annual Phill Hansel Invitational, a three-day event running from Wednesday through Friday at CRWC Natatorium.
Cougar fans are encouraged to wear black on Thursday and red on Friday. Fans can also pick up a free Houston Swimming & Diving sticker. Admission to the meet is free.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Wednesday: 200 Freestyle Relay, 500 Freestyle, 200 IM, 50 Freestyle, 400 Medley Relay, 1-Meter Diving
Thursday: 200 Medley Relay, 100 Butterfly, 400 IM, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke, 800 Freestyle Relay, 3-Meter Diving
Friday: 1650 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 400 Freestyle Relay, Platform Diving
LAST TIME OUT
The Cougars turned in a strong performance at the LSU quad meet, securing 13 podium finishes, including two event wins, along with an NCAA cut from junior Evelyn Entrekin and a zone cut from freshman Maisy Woloszyn.
Junior Michelle McLeod swept both diving events, while sophomore Alexia Duncan climbed to eighth in the Houston record book from her performance in the 200-yard backstroke. Houston picked up head-to-head victories over Tulane (227-73) and Rice (177-123) while falling to #20 LSU (198-101).
