PREVIEW: Soccer Travels to #5 TCU, Looks to Claim Final Spot in Big 12 Tournament

FORT WORTH, Texas – The University of Houston Soccer team looks to claim the eighth and final spot in the Big 12 Soccer Tournament when they travel to face #5 TCU at 7 p.m., Thursday from Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT
After four players left its previous match with an injury, Houston gutted out a 1-1 draw against #16 Baylor on Sunday.

The Bears struck first in the 49th minute after Baylor capitalized on a corner kick. Houston evened the match in the 53rd minute to secure a crucial conference point as senior Cameryn Maddox scored after sophomore Casey Maddox's shot attempt was deflected.

Head Coach Ben Williams is in his first season leading the Cougars. Williams is in his second season as a head coach in the college ranks.
Graduate Jaden Humbyrd, junior Kyrsten Kizer and sophomore Casey Maddox were named captains for the 2025 season as voted on by their teammates.
The Cougars feature a revamped roster with 15 newcomers including 11 transfers and four freshmen.

Houston is looking for their first ranked win since Oct. 21, 2021 against #23 Memphis and its first road win since Oct. 7, 2021 against #15 SMU.
