Houston is coming off a heartbreaking five-set loss to Utah on Thursday while BYU has been off since falling to West Virginia in five sets on Oct. 3.
The Cougars' middle duo of Kellen Morin and Barakat Rahmon sit in fourth and fifth in the Big 12 with 1.40 and 1.27 blocks per set, respectively. Houston is the only Big 12 school with two players with at least 1.25 blocks per set.
Head Coach David Rehr is in his seventh season at the helm of the Cougars. In his time with Houston, he's posted a 123-68 record, including a 73-35 record in conference play.
The Cougars have a strong record against the current Big 12 landscape, holding a 137-106 record against league foes all-time.
The Cougars' blocking effort has been a highlight for the team this season. Ranking 14^th in the nation with 2.82 blocks per set, Houston's mark currently sits as the team's highest since 1998 when the team amassed 3.03 per set. The total is the second most in the Big 12, behind only Arizona State's 2.83.
Rahmon is third in the Big 12 with a .387 hitting percentage.
Senior Lottie Scully ranks third among active Big 12 players with 2,904 assists. She is just 96 assists away from 3,000 in her career.
