David Rehr was named the seventh head coach in Houston Volleyball history on March 27, 2019 and in his time in Houston, has rejuvenated the program to heights that have not been seen in years.
COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
- Fastest UH Volleyball in the NCAA Era head coach to 50 and 100 wins.
- Became the second two-time conference Coach of the Year in program history, earning a second AAC Coach of the Year honor in 2022.
- Named The American Coach of the Year in 2019, becoming the third coach in program history to earn conference Coach of the Year honors and the first since 1994.
- Posted Houston's first 30-win season since 1980, prior to the NCAA's addition of volleyball
- Broke the program's win streak record by winning 20 straight in 2022
- Mentored 41 All-Conference Selections, including 21 in his first six seasons at Houston.
- Tutored position players of the year four times since arriving in Houston (Libero of the Year, 2021, 2022, 2023; Setter of the Year, 2020*).
- Had five All-Americans at UH.
- Has had nine AVCA All-Region selections at UH.
- Won his 200th NCAA game in 2021.
- Has won 11 conference titles.
- Two-time NJCAA National Champions at Blinn JC (2008, 2011).
- Nine-time NJCAA District Coach of the Year
- NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame inductee (2011).
- Posted eight 30-plus win seasons at Blinn.
