THE GAME
- Saturday marks the 31st matchup between Houston and UCF.
- Houston looks to snap its four-game losing streak and pick up its first road win of the season.
- UCF leads the all-time series, 22-8.
- In its last meeting, Houston defeated UCF, 68-67, inside Fertitta Center (March 2, 2024).
- Houston Head Coach Ronald Hughey served as the recruiting coordinator for UCF during the 2008- 09 season where the Knights claimed the CUSA Championship title and the school's third NCAA Tournament berth.
- With seven available players for the third time this season, Houston fell, 73-65, against Cincinnati on Wednesday inside Fifth Third Arena.
- Houston had three players score in double figures as Gigi Cooke led the Cougars with 20 points, her second game this season with 20 or more points. Laila Blair added 19 points and played all 40 minutes for a third-straight game this season. Blair moved to first in program history for most minutes played at 4,031 career minutes. Love scored 12 points to round out the top scorers.
- The Cougars return six players from the 2023-24 roster: Kierra Merchant, Gigi Cooke, Avalon Miller, Maliyah Johnson, Peyton McFarland and All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention, Laila Blair.
- Blair is now Houston's record holder for 3-pointers made with 234 career 3-pointers and most minutes played in program history at 4,031 minutes.
- On Jan. 11, Blair moved up to third on Houston's all-time scoring list. She has 1,838 points and is 120 points away from moving up to second to surpass Sharion Higgins' 1,957 points.
- Avalon Miller (Achilles), Maliyah Johnson (ACL) and Kateri Poole (ACL) are out for the season.
- Guard Leilani Augmon suffered a broken nose against Baylor (Jan. 17). The guard had surgery on Jan. 27 and is expected for return mid-to-late February.
- Guard Ashley Chevalier is out indefinitely due to personal reasons leaving Houston with seven available players.
