Houston travels to Cincinnati for lone 2024-25 regular season meeting on Wednesday

CINCINNATI – The University of Houston Women's Basketball program looks to pick up its first road win of the season at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, against Cincinnati inside Fifth Third Arena.

The Cougars were led by graduate guard Laila Blair's 16 points and six rebounds.

The Cougars return six players from the 2023-24 roster: Kierra Merchant, Gigi Cooke, Avalon Miller, Maliyah Johnson, Peyton McFarland and All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention, Laila Blair.
Houston welcomes five transfers this season including Leilani Augmon (Troy), Summer Bostock (Maryland), Ashley Chevalier (Texas Tech), Eylia Love (Louisville) and Kateri Poole (LSU).
Blair is now Houston's record holder for 3-pointers made with 231 career 3-pointers.
Blair (3,991 minutes) needs 29 minutes for the most minutes played in program history.
On Jan. 11, Blair moved up to third on Houston's all-time scoring list. She has 1,819 points and is 139 points away from moving up to second and surpassing Sharion Higgins with 1,957 points.
Guard Leilani Augmon will be sidelined for 2-3 weeks after suffering a broken nose against Baylor (Jan. 17).
Avalon Miller (Achilles), Maliyah Johnson (ACL) and Kateri Poole (ACL) are out for the season leaving Houston with nine available players.
