Cougars play 36 holes at Laredo Country Club on Monday with Final Round set for Tuesday
LAREDO, Texas – The University of Houston Men's Golf program opens its spring season as a team when it competes at the Border Olympics, beginning Monday morning at Laredo Country Club.
The Cougars will host a 17-team field featuring Abilene Christian, Bowling Green, Houston Christian, Illinois State, Lamar, Lipscomb, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston, Troy, ULM, Western Carolina and Wright State.
Schools will play 36 holes beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, with the Final Round teeing off Tuesday morning on the 7,375-yard, par-72 course.
The Cougars officially started their spring campaign earlier this week with student-athletes in a pair of individual tournaments in the Greater Houston area. Freshman Grant Doggett tied for 17th at the Bentwater Intercollegiate at Bentwater Country Club in Montgomery, Texas, while junior Jacob Borow tied for eighth at the Houston Classic at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.

MEET the COUGARS
Under the leadership of Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke, nine Cougars will compete in the Border Olympics.
Fifth-year senior Austyn Reily, sophomore Ruben Lindsay, junior Wolfgang Glawe, Doggett and freshman Chi Chun Chen will compete in the team lineup while fifth-year senior Nick Sutton, Borow, sophomore Bryant Hiskey II and redshirt freshman Carson Cooper will play as individuals.
Reily stands second among the Cougars with a 72.00 scoring average and tied for 11th at the Papago Individual Event in his first tournament of the fall season on Sept. 18-19, 2023.

Following the Border Olympics, Houston will tee off at the Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on March 3-5.
From the Cougars returning home to play host to the All-American Intercollegiate on March 18-19 at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
