Eight Cougars Earn 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award

Award recognizes graduates with cumulative GPA of 3.8 or above
HOUSTON – Eight current and former University of Houston student-athletes have received the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award, recognizing outstanding student-athletes for their significant accomplishments in the classroom while competing at the highest level of college sports.
The award is given annually to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA Intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision institution.
Houston honorees included Ava Alaniz (soccer), Zosia Bulhak (cross country/track and field), Daniela Castillo (cross country/track and field), Clare Ceynowa (softball), L.J. Cryer (men's basketball), Anna Economon (women's golf), Chase Farris (swimming & diving) and Hedda Grelz (swimming & diving).
