Soccer Drops Road Contest Against Iowa State, 2-1

Cougars set to face West Virginia at 1 p.m., Sunday for Alumni Day
AMES, Iowa– The University of Houston Soccer program dropped its fourth Big 12 Conference matchup of the season to Iowa State, 2-1 on Thursday evening at Cyclone Sports Complex.
After scoring the first goal of the match, Houston (6-5-1, 0-4 Big 12) allowed Iowa State (4-7-1, 1-3 Big 12) to gain steam as they answered with two late second half goals for the victory.
Houston's goal came in the 50th minute of action off a free kick as freshman midfielder Aryanna Jimison hammered home a ball assisted by senior midfielder Cordelia Cross. The goal is Jimison's second career goal.
After Jimison's goal, Iowa State scored in the 72nd and 85th minute of the match to take the 2-1 lead.
While the Cyclones were able to find the back of the net twice, sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich made seven saves on the afternoon to bring her season total up to 45.

The Cougars will return to the friendly confines of the Carl Lewis International Complex as they face West Virginia for the first time in program history at 1 p.m., Sunday, for Alumni Day.
All former University of Houston Soccer alums are invited to attend the match and can RSVP by emailing assistant coach Fleur Benatar (fbenatar@central.uh.edu).
Houston then will embark on a three-match road swing as it faces Kansas State (Oct. 5), Kansas (Oct. 8) and TCU (Oct. 12).
TICKETS
Current University of Houston students may claim one ticket at no cost to all home soccer matches. Students can claim their tickets by presenting their valid UH student IDs at the gate.
Single-game tickets are now available to purchase for $10 per match. Season tickets are also available to purchase for only $42 with family plans (four season tickets) starting at $100.
Mobile tickets can also be purchased at game time at the ticket booth located at Schroeder Park (baseball), adjacent to the Carl Lewis International Complex.
