
Triolo Named to Cape Cod All-Star Team

Rising junior to represent Bourne Braves on West Division team
SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. -- University of Houston Baseball rising junior Jared Triolo was named a Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star, the summer league announced on Saturday.
Triolo, who is batting .284 with six doubles, three home runs, 15 RBI and 15 runs scored between third base and left field, will represent the Bourne Braves on the 25-man West Division team on July 22 at Whitehouse Field in Harwich, Mass.
With the Cougars in 2018, Triolo started all 63 games at third base and led the team, ranking third in the American Athletic Conference, with a .344 average. The Austin native finished second in The American with 85 hits to go along with 11 doubles, one triple, five home runs, 28 RBI and 45 runs scored. He also led the team with 24 multi-hit games and was second with 17 stolen bases.
Triolo was named to the All-Series teams for the Silver Glove Series (Houston vs. Rice) and Don Sanders Cup (Houston vs. Sam Houston State), and helped Houston to a conference regular-season title and an at-large bid to NCAA Regionals.
ON CAPE COD BASEBALL LEAGUE
The Cape Cod Baseball League traces back to 1885 and is the premier collegiate summer league in the nation. The league is comprised of 10 teams between the East Division --
Brewster Whitecaps, Chatham Anglers, Harwich Mariners, Orleans Firebirds and Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox -- and West Division -- Bourne Braves, Cotuit Kettleers, Falmouth Commodores, Hyannis Harbor Hawks and Wareham Gatemen -- spanning from Wareham to Orleans in Massachusetts.
The summer season features 44 regular-season games followed by playoffs. As the league celebrates its 133rd year, it counts more than 1,100 all-time alumni performing at all levels of professional baseball with a record number (306) former Cape Leaguers on Major League rosters in 2018.
