HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's basketball team was defeated by East Carolina University, 87-46, on Saturday afternoon at Hofheinz Pavilion. The Cougars are now 6-10 (1-4 American Athletic Conference).
"Today, there was not enough (of a) sense of urgency (from our team) against an East Carolina team that played with a tremendous amount of urgency," said Houston head coach Ronald Hughey. "They pushed the ball in transition and controlled the tempo. We just didn't have the energy."
