HEAD COACH Todd Buchanan
On the game...
"That is exactly where we are. They got up twelve in the first half and we caught up. We cut it to six and I felt really good going into the half. I felt that Danielle Parks stepped up today and I was really proud of her. Mileka (Loydrake) also stepped up today. They really answered the bell this week. Our look and body language looked so much better. I told them today they could either follow me or stay behind. I told them I was getting my swagger back today."
On how tough is it right now for the team...
"It is really tough. Words cannot describe it. Where we are at with the injuries is hard but you just have to keep moving on. I am not going to make excuses. We have to play to the best of our ability. I feel that we did. I feel so much better today than I did about last night. I told them it has to be time to step up."
On playing without Porsche Landry...
"I feel that Roxana plays her heart out every game. You can't say enough about what that kid is doing. Mileka also did some of that today. I felt that she came in and gave us some good quality minutes. From a freshman standpoint that is huge for us. To be fair to everybody, no one can replace Porsche. She is irreplaceable. That is the killer. It would be like the Chicago Bulls losing Michael Jordan. That is how big of a part of the piece of the puzzle she is for us."
On defensive mistakes being a big factor in the game...
"It was huge. We did everything we were supposed to do. We would not rotate the right way and we would not stay home in the post. We wanted to come out and overplay. We would leave their post player wide open various types. We kept going over it but we did not execute. I felt that when we would get within reach we would give up offensive rebounds or would foul with time running out on the shot clock. The last thing I told them today was tonight we would not beat ourselves. I felt like we did at times shoot ourselves in the foot."
