Spent one semester at Baylor for head coach Greg Priest in the fall of 2003 before transferring to UH... Competed at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, for head coach coach Russ Evans as a freshmane during the 2002-03 season.

Was a four-year letterwinner at Stephenville High for head coach David Hannebut... Named Rookie of the Year as a freshman and was honored as team Most Valuable Player during his final three prep sesaons... Was the individual district medalist and a regional qualifier in each of his last three years... Also played guard for the basketball team... Distinguished student-athlete... Graduated in the top five percent of his class and was a member of the Student Council and Spanish Honor Society... Elected student body vice president.
