Agyepong Qualifies for NCAA Outdoor Championships

Sophomore Cleo Agyepong records personal best in women’s shot put on Thursday
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Houston sophomore Cleo Agyepong secured the second ticket to the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the Cougars on day two of the NCAA West First Round at McDonnell Field.

Agyepong achieved a personal best of 16.94m to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the first time in her career. The sophomore joins junior Cordell Nwokeji, who earned his spot in the men's shot put on Wednesday.

In the 100-meter hurdles, two Cougars advanced to Saturday's quarterfinals. Senior Kaycee McCoy won her heat with a personal best of 13.11, the fifth fastest time in program history. Graduate Miracle Thompson also earned her spot in the quarterfinals with a time of 13.40.Â
