Cougars open action in Austin on Thursday
AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Houston Track & Field program will compete in the 98th edition of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field, Thursday through Saturday.

At the 2025 edition of Texas Relays, senior Anthony Trucks won the 110-meter hurdles (timed final) with a personal time of 13.76. Junior Antrea Mita was crowned the champion in the men's high jump (section A) with an outdoor personal best mark of 2.21m.

Houston has been named the most outstanding men's team twice in meet history, first in 1960 and later in 2018. Three Cougars have been named the meet's most outstanding performers: Leroy Burrell (1989), Elijah Hall (2018), and Amere Lattin (2019).

STARTING NOTES
- The Cougars won 12 events at the Victor Lopez Classic, highlighted by Big 12 Track & Field Athlete of the week, junior Cordell Nwokeji, who recorded a personal best mark of 19.55m in the men's shot put.
- Nwokeji was named Big 12 Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, the first weekly honor of his career.
- Redshirt sophomore Ty Lott won the men's hammer throw with a personal best mark of 61.91m. Senior Zaeda Houff placed second in women's hammer throw with a mark of 54.42m. Â
- Sophomore Cleo Agyepong recorded the victory in the women's shot put with a mark of 15.15m. Â
- A sweep in the women's pole vault, sophomore Evina Panagiotou earned first with a clearance of 3.98m, junior Nicole Prall placed second with a mark of 3.98m, and senior Aubrey Tupper finished third at 3.74m.Â
- Graduate Canaan Wharry placed second in the men's discus with the 10th best mark in program history at 55.97m. Â
- Freshman Bradley Lowman placed second in men's long jump at 7.17m. Freshman Simeon Cannon finished third with a mark of 6.91m.Â
- Sophomore Athena Stith placed second in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.86m.Â
- Freshman Kenneth Owen finished second in the men's high jump at 2.07m, and Senior Turey Stoudemire followed in third place with a mark of 2.02m.Â
- Sophomore Stephanie Ume-Ezeoke earned third in the women's triple jump with a personal best mark of 11.90m.Â
- Sophomore Tirea Reed placed third in women's discus with a mark of 47.95m.  Â
- Houston took first and second in the men's 4x100-meter relay. Sophomore Darius Rodgers, senior Danarrion Ard, freshman Micah Washington and Sean Aigoboboh crossed the finish line first in 39.69. Graduate Ryan Mulholland, junior Michael Onilogbo, senior Dakari Charlton and junior Jaelyn Reeves-Lile finished second in 39.89. Â
- Senior All-American Kaycee McCoy won her outdoor season debut in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.31. Graduate Miracle Thompson placed third at 13.77.Â
- The Cougars swept the men's 100-meter dash. Aigboboh won with a time of 10.33, Charlton finished second in 10.40, while Mulholland grabbed third place with a time of 10.50.Â
- Freshman Zyon Alston earned the victory in the women's 100-meter with a time of 11.77 and senior Matilde Ochoa earned third with a time of 11.81. Â
- Graduate Trey East III won the men's 400-meter with a time of 46.54. Sophomore Damarien Jacobs ran a personal best time of 46.56 to take second place, and sophomore King Taylor followed in third place with a time of 47.25.Â
- Freshman Dominic Harper won the men's 200-meter in a time of 20.93 and Onilogbo placed third in a time of 21.19. Sophomore Norah Nwonumah crossed the finish line second in the women's 200-meter final in 24.28.Â
- Junior Michaela Mouton won the women's 400-meter with a time of 53.66.Â
- Sophomore Invida Maurina placed second in the women's 800-meter with a time of 2:07.56. Â
- Sophomore Noah Hanson finished second in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.01 while junior Jarius Burton placed third in 14.24.Â
- Freshman William King IV finished the men's 400-meter hurdles final in second place with a time of 51.84 and Hanson closed in at third place in a time of 53.60.Â
- Freshman Kyra Hayden placed second in the women's 400-meter hurdles final with a personal best time of 1:02.54.Â
- Junior Patrick Flowers finished third in the men's 1500-meter final with a personal best time of 3:47.71.Â
- The men's 4x400-meter relay of Jacobs, Harper, King IV and Taylor won with a time of 3:11.66. Â
- The women's team placed second with a time of 3:46.57 in the 4x400-meter relay with an all-freshman squad of Kamree Wolridge, Madison Sweezer, Haden and Jada Stanford.  Â
