HOUSTON – The Houston Volleyball team lost the first game of their homestead in straight sets against #17 BYU on Thursday, ending their 3-game winning streak.

Houston started the first set strong by taking the lead and holding it through the early portion of the set. A 3-0 scoring run by Houston forced a BYU timeout with the score 11-5. The set would remain back and forth until BYU went on a 3-0 run to trim the lead to one and eventually tie the game at 21-21. With Houston holding a 24-23 advantage, an attack error by BYU ended the set until a BYU challenge overturned the decision, knotting the set at 24. BYU claimed the next two points, taking the set, 26-24.

The second set saw BYU dominate, doubling their advantage in the match. BYU started the set jumping into a 10-3 lead. That momentum continued throughout the set with BYU triumphing 25-14.
