Shannon Dworaczyk Tabbed to Big 12 Starting Seven

HOUSTON – Freshman setter Shannon Dworaczyk was named to the Big 12 Starting Seven for her performances last week against Cincinnati and West Virginia, the conference announced Tuesday. The award looks to recognize standout performers across the league during the week's matches.

Across her fourth and fifth starts, Dworaczyk recorded 87 assists leading the Big 12, while averaging 10.88 assists per set, ranking second in the Big 12. She led the Cougars offense to a .294 hitting percentage placing third in the conference. In the win over Cincinnati, she registered the first double-double of her career, tallying 42 assists and 12 digs.

In the match versus West Virginia, Dworaczyk set a career high in assists with 45, adding two aces and six digs. The offense commanded by the freshman hit .300 in a conference game for the first time since the squad slashed .380 against UCF on Oct. 25, 2024.

BYU's Kelli Jo Burguess and Elli Mortensen, Kansas' Reese Messer, Kansas State's Addison Massey, TCU's Rosemary Archer and Kinsley Young round out the Starting Seven this week.
