Cougars and Vaqueros meet for the first time on Thursday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Soccer team is set to host UTRGV at 7 p.m., Thursday from the Carl Lewis International Complex.
The Cougars (4-0-2) look to end non-conference play with an undefeated record for the first time in program history. Thursday's match will be the first time Houston and UTRGV (3-3) have met in the regular season. The Cougars hosted the Vaqueros in an exhibition match last season.
Following Thursday's match, Houston will recognize Lexi Gonzalez, Peyton Machado, Jada Gibson, Cameryn Maddox, Jaden Humbyrd and Logan Pilgreen for their achievements on and off the pitch.
University of Houston students can claim a FREE student ticket to all Houston Soccer matches by presenting their student ID at the ticket booth on game day.
Tickets for Thursday's match against the Vaqueros can be found here. The match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Matt Pedersen (play-by-play), Brooke Kirchhofer (analyst) and Vicente Garcia (reporter) calling the action. Live stats for the match can be found here.
LAST TIME OUT
Houston's match with SFA ended in a scoreless draw on Sunday evening. The Cougars recorded 27 shots to SFA's five and had 11 shots on goal. It was the second straight season where the Cougars and Ladyjacks ended with a scoreless draw (Aug. 22, 2024).
