Kylei Griffin Signs with Cougars

Griffin becomes first signee of Schoonmaker Era
HOUSTON – Kylei Griffin, a senior transfer from Texas A&M, has become the first signee under Houston Softball Head Coach Chrissy Schoonmaker, the program announced Tuesday.Â

Griffin joins the Cougars following two seasons with the Aggies and a year at Louisiana.Â
Â
A Top-15 recruit out of high school, Griffin has seen limited playing time during her collegiate career but has made the most of her opportunities, collecting 34 total bases and posting seven extra-base hits, including three homers.Â
Â
Last season, Griffin played in 31 games while helping Texas A&M as it was named co-SEC Tournament Champions. She also played a key role in clinching an Aggie sweep of #22 Auburn, driving home a run as a pinch-hitter to put Texas A&M up three.Â

Griffin adds significant postseason experience to Houston's roster, playing in three NCAA Tournaments, including two trips to NCAA Super Regionals.Â
