Lott Breaks School Record, Men’s Relay Sets Meet, Facility Marks at Howie Ryan Invitational

Cougars total 12 wins at final indoor regular season home meet
HOUSTON – Redshirt sophomore Ty Lott broke the men's weight throw school record and the men's 4x400-meter relay set meet and facility record to headline a standout day on Friday at the Howie Ryan Invitational.
The Cougars collected 12 wins, four second-place finishes and three third-place finishes at their final regular season meet of the season.
FIELD EVENTS
Lott broke the school record in the men's weight throw on his second attempt at 21.41m. Senior Canaan Wharry placed second with a personal best of 19.94m to move up to fourth on the all-time list.
Senior Turey Stoudemire collected the first victory of the day in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.05m
Sophomore Esther Osisike earned her third win of the season in the women's weight throw on her third attempt at 19.65m.
Senior Aubrey Tupper and junior Nicole Prall tied for second place in the women's pole vault with their marks of 3.85m.
Freshman Jaiya Daniels took third place in the women's long jump with a personal best mark at 5.72m.
The Cougars swept both the men's and women's shot put. Sophomore Cleo Agyepong posted a personal best in women's shot put with her mark of 16.34. Junior Cordell Nwokeji earned his fifth win of the season with his mark of 18.23m.
RUNNING EVENTS
Sophomore Invida Maurina earned her first win of the season in the women's 600-yards by setting a fieldhouse record in 1:20.88. Sophomore Kali Magana finished second with a personal best time of 1:23.66.
Junior Patrick Flowers ran his first mile of the season, setting a personal best time of 4:07.45 for third place.
Junior Michaela Mouton crossed the finish line first in the women's 400-meter with a time of 54.19.
Senior Kaycee McCoy continued her dominance in the women's 60-meter hurdles, winning the event in 8.23.
Senior Anthony Trucks earned his second victory of the season in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 7.76.
Freshman Zyon Alston won the women's 60-meters in 7.33, recording a personal best and the fifth-fastest time in program history. Senior Matilde Ochoa also posted a personal best time of 7.42 for third place.
Junior Michael Onilogbo collected his first victory as a Cougar in the men's 200-meter with a time of 21.43.
The men's 4x400-meter relay of sophomore Damarien Jacobs, freshman Dominic Harper, sophomore King Taylor and graduate Trey East III set a meet and facility record time of 3:08.22 to win the event. Their time is the eighth fastest in program history.
UP NEXT
Graduate Jamar Marshall Jr. and sophomore Evina Panagiotou will compete at the Don Kirby Invitational on Saturday. Marshall Jr. opens with the men's 60-meter hurdles prelims at 11 a.m. CT and finals at 2:45 p.m. CT if advanced. Panagiotou will compete in the women's pole vault at 1:30 p.m. CT.
Following this weekend, the Cougars will head to Lubbock, Texas, for the Big 12 Indoor Championship from Feb. 27-28, with Texas Tech set to host.
