HOUSTON – Houston Volleyball confirmed the signing of four incoming freshmen for its 2026 signing class as the early signing period opened.
Houston welcomes one player at each position – libero, middle blocker, outside hitter, setter – and two homegrown players from the greater Houston area.
SHANNON DWORACZYK | SETTER | MAGNOLIA, TEXAS
Dworaczyk joins Houston after an incredible high school career with Magnolia West High School under Coach Kristen Lemoine and a club career with TAV Houston under Coach Ray Hedden. She set Magnolia West's career record with 4,155 assists, including 1,391 in her junior season when she helped Magnolia West reach the Area Stage of the 2024 UIL 6A State Championships.
"Shannon is a winner," Head Coach David Rehr said. "The first time we saw Shannon play we knew she was different. Shannon can lead a team and push them to win. We can't wait until she gets to put a Cougar uniform on."
Dworaczyk recorded 989 assists with 102 kills, 54 aces, 194 digs and 20 blocks in her senior year, helping her collect her second consecutive AVCA All-Region honor. In her high school career, she finished with 500 kills, 221 aces and 1,127 digs. She was selected as the District 15-6A Setter of the Year, GHVCA All-6A First Team honoree and GHVCA All-Greater Houston Second Team in her junior year.
CALI REECE | DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST/LIBERO | SPRING, TEXAS
A 2025 AVCA All-Region selection, Reece remains in her hometown after a prep career with Grand Oaks High School under Coach Morgan Rogers and a club career with TAV Houston under Coach Adrien Wohlschlaeger. She wrapped up her high school career with 1,316 digs, including 444 in her sophomore year, along with 145 aces and 354 assists.
"Cali is a state championship libero and a solid passer and defender," Rehr said. "She fits the long line of all-conference liberos we have coached at the University of Houston. I'm looking forward to seeing her compete for the jersey."
The 2024 Katy/Cy-Fair ISD Volleyball Classic Outstanding Libero, she helped Grand Oaks win the UIL State Championship in both her sophomore and junior years while reaching the regional finals of this year's tournament.
LEAH ROBINSON | OUTSIDE HITTER | KANSAS CITY, MO.
A four-time high school first team All-District honoree, Robinson played prep volleyball for St. James Academy and club volleyball for MAVS under Coach Connor Greyston. She won the USAV National Championship with MAVS in 2024, being named to the All-Tournament team and helping MAVS 816 to a 9-2 record at the tournament, including a 25-20, 25-23 sweep in the tournament finals.
"Leah has a cannon for an arm," Rehr said. "Her arm talent can help us right away. She is developing into a six-rotation player improving her defense and passing every match she plays. We are looking forward to seeing her blossom in the future."
Across her freshman and sophomore years at St. James, she posted 363 kills, averaging 3.1 per set in her sophomore year, adding 48 blocks, 204 digs and 22 aces.
