Houston Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

Cougars collect eighth overall, sixth consecutive academic award from AVCA
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Volleyball program earned the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced Thursday. It marked the sixth consecutive honor for the team and eighth in the program's history.
The award recognizes programs who maintain at least a 3.3 year-long GPA. Over 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs, both women's and men's, collected this year's honor.
Nine student-athletes earned Academic All-Big 12 honors, featuring players who maintained at least a 3.20 GPA while playing in at least 20 percent of the team's scheduled contests, while also placing three on the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team.
