PREVIEW: Volleyball Returns Home to Host #15 Jayhawks

HOUSTON – The Houston Volleyball team returns to Fertitta Center to begin a three-match homestand with a tilt against #15 Kansas at 7 p.m., Thursday.

The match is the team's "Your Cause" night with each student-athlete picking a cause close to them to play for during the match. Fans are encouraged to represent their causes as well, with an opportunity to make posters showcasing their cause prior to the match.

The Cougars are coming off a road trip to Utah where they swiped a set from #21 BYU and posted 19 blocks over nine sets while in the Beehive State.
The Cougars' middle duo of Kellen Morin and Barakat Rahmon sit in fourth and fifth in the Big 12 with 1.33 and 1.24 blocks per set, respectively. Houston is the only Big 12 school with two players with at least 1.20 blocks per set.
Head Coach David Rehr is in his seventh season at the helm of the Cougars. In his time with Houston, he's posted a 123-69 record, including a 73-36 record in conference play.
The Cougars have a strong record against the current Big 12 landscape, holding a 137-107 record against league foes all-time.
The Cougars' blocking effort has been a highlight for the team this season. Ranking 19^th in the nation with 2.73 blocks per set, Houston's mark currently sits as the team's highest since 1998 when the team amassed 3.03 per set. The total is the second most in the Big 12, behind only Arizona State's 2.85.
Rahmon is third in the Big 12 with a .380 hitting percentage.
Senior Lottie Scully ranks third among active Big 12 players with 2,921 assists. She is just 79 assists away from 3,000 in her career.
Senior Bre Reid has posted 917 kills in her career, just 83 away from 1,000. She has the seventh most kills among active players in the Big 12 Conference. She's also just two blocks away from 100.
