Men’s Golf Finishes First Day at Aggie Invitational

BRYAN, Texas – University of Houston sophomore Bryant Hiskey II posted a score of 154 to lead two Cougars individuals during the first day of the Aggie Invitational at Traditions Club on Saturday.

Junior Drew Murdock was tied for 45^th at 155 on the 7,227-yard, par-72 course.

Hiskey bettered his First Round score with a 73 in the afternoon session while Murdock posted a 76.

The Final Round tees off with a 7:20 a.m., split-tee start Sunday. Hiskey and Murdock are competing against student-athletes from #30 LSU, #44 Baylor, #46 Louisville, FGCU, Memphis, Louisiana Tech, UTSA, Louisiana, Sam Houston, Lamar and New Mexico State.

UP NEXT
Following the Aggie Invitational, Houston competes as a team in its final regular-season event when it tees off at the Thunderbird Intercollegiate at Papago Golf Club in Tempe, Ariz., on April 12-13.

From there, the team tees off in its first Big 12 Championships, set for April 22-24 at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. The winner of the league's annual postseason event earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Regionals, set for March 13-15 at one of six sites across the nation.
