Cougars to play 36 holes Monday with Final Round on Tuesday at Golf Club of Houston
HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Men's Golf program returns to action on its home course when it plays host to a pair of tournaments as part of the All-American Intercollegiate, beginning Monday morning at Golf Club of Houston.
As a team, the Cougars will play 36 holes Monday with the Final Round teeing off Tuesday on the 7,425-yard, par72 Tournament Course. Individuals from participating schools will compete on the 7,508-yard, par-72 Member Course. Admission is free to both events, and all fans are invited to attend.
Houston enters the All-American Intercollegiate after tying for eighth at the Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico earlier this month. Senior Santiago De La Fuente opened that tournament with a 68 and tied for 14th at 211 to lead the Cougars.
While the Cougars played as a team in Mexico, junior Jacob Borow led four student-athletes competing as individuals at the HCU Colin Montgomerie Invitational on March 4-5. The Lake Jackson, Texas, native fired three straight rounds in the 60s, including a personal-low 65 in the Second Round, to earn medalist honors at. 16-under 200.
It was the first individual title of Borow's collegiate career.

MEET the COUGARS
Under the leadership of Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke, the Cougars will be represented by De La Fuente, senior super senior Austyn Reily, freshman Chi Chun Chen, junior Wolfgang Glawe and Borow.
Freshman Grant Doggett, junior Laurenz Schiergen, junior Drew Murdock, super senior Nick Sutton and sophomore Bryant Hiskey II will compete as Houston's second team while sophomore Ruben Lindsay and redshirt freshman Carson Cooper will play as individuals.
Sophomore Julio Rios-Brache will make his season debut with redshirt freshman Nico Aulicino playing his in his collegiate debut.
This season, De La Fuente leads the Cougars with a 69.58 scoring average and 10 rounds under par in 12 total rounds. He has posted a pair of Top-Five finishes with a second-place showing at the season-opening Argent Financial Classic in Choudrant, La., on Sept. 10-12, 2023.
Super senior Austyn Reily is second on the team with a 71.25 average and first set the program's season low with a 65 in the Final Round at the Border Olympics on Feb. 20, 2024.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete in a 20-team field featuring Rice, Arkansas State, Baylor, Cincinnati, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Lamar, Louisiana, Memphis, Sam Houston, Southern Miss, Texas State, Texas Tech, UNLV, UT Rio Grande Valley, UTSA, Yale and Texas A&M.

Following the All-American Intercollegiate, Houston will continue its hosting duties as it welcomes an elite field to the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla., on March 25-26.
From there, the Cougars will head west to compete at the Thunderbird Intercollegiate at Papago Golf Club in Tempe, Ariz., on April 12-13. That will be the team's final regular-season event before heading to the Big 12 Championships.
