The St. Leon-Rot, Germany, native halved his first hole at No. 14 but then proceeded to win five of the next six holes to build a lead he would never surrender.
Senior Laurenz Schiergen claimed a 2&1 win over Ethan Dial, and senior Jacob Borow's 3&1 win over Charlie Wylie gave the Cougars their second win in the tournament.
