SAN JOSE del CABO, BCS, Mexico – Fresh off its best finish of the season, the University of Houston Women's Golf program closes out the fall campaign when it tees off at the Battle at the Beach, beginning Friday morning at Club Campestre San Jose.
The Cougars will play 18 holes each day through Sunday on the 6,250-yard, par-72 course. Houston begins with 9 a.m. (CDT) shotgun starts on Friday and Saturday with an 8 a.m. (CDT) shotgun start for Sunday's Final Round.
Houston continues a busy week after finishing third at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marco, Texas, on Tuesday.
Freshman Moa Svedenskiold led the way for the Cougars at the Jim West Challenge and made history. Firing a 4-under 68 for the second straight round, the Halmstad, Sweden, native shared the individual championship with Tulane's Carla Bernat for the first title of her collegiate career.
Svedenskiold became the first freshman in school history to win a tournament title and became the fastest to do so, reaching that milestone in only her third collegiate event.
