Houston Heads to Dallas for Zone D Diving Championships

Four Cougars will compete for spots at the NCAA Championships
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program will send four divers to the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships from March 9-11 at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium on the campus of SMU.
Championships action is set to begin at 11 a.m. on Monday with the 1-Meter. Results can be found HERE. The event will be streamed and can be accessed HERE.
Fresh off of earning its fourth consecutive American Athletic Conference team tittle, Houston divers will compete at the Zone D Championships looking to join the seven UH swimmers that have qualified for the 2020 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
Less than one month removed from earning both the 1-meter and 3-meter titles at The American Championships, Lauren Burrell will compete in each of those events in Dallas. This will mark her fourth appearance at the Zone D Championships. Burrell enters the week with a season-best 289.80 in the 1-Meter and score of 325.50 in the 3-Meter.
Chase Farris looks to extend her already stellar first season at Houston after securing the conference crown in the Platform last month. Farris will compete in both the Platform and the 3-Meter at the Zone D Championships and enters the meet with a season-best score of 263.10 in the platform, along with a score of 286.05 in the 3-Meter.
Jolie Blodgett will compete in the 1-Meter, 3-Meter and the Platform in Dallas, making her fourth appearance at the Zone D Championships and first as a Cougars. Blodgett will enter the meet with a season-best 272.55 in the 1-Meter, 293.25 in the 3-Meter and 227.45 in the Platform.
Katie Deininger will compete in both the 3-Meter and the Platform in her second straight appearance at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships. Deininger has posted a season-best score of 306.90 in the 3-Meter and 283.50 in the Platform.
