Four Cougars Named to CSC Swimming & Diving Academic All-District Team

Four student-athletes selected for College Sports Communicators academic honor
HOUSTON – Four members of the University of Houston Swimming & Diving team earned a spot on the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.Â

Juniors Michelle McLeod and Evelyn Entrekin earned their second consecutive selection to the list while senior Noor El Gendy and sophomore Caroline Roelen received their first honors. This is Houston's fourth consecutive season with four honorees on the team. Houston now has 18 all-time selections.Â

McLeod, who is studying economics, competed at NCAA's in all three diving events. She earned All-Big 12 Conference First Team honors on the platform event after finishing in first and All-Big 12 Second Team honors on the 1-meter and 3-meter finishing fifth and sixth, respectively, at the Big 12 Conference Championships in February. She was also named the Big 12 "Diver of the Meet" after her performance at conference.Â

Entrekin, who graduated with her bachelor's degree in exercise science in December, is a three time All-Big 12 selection this season in the 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM. She moved up to fourth on Houston's top-10 list in the 200 individual medley and fifth in the 200 breast.Â

El Gendy, who is graduating this year with a degree in political science, earned All-Big 12 First Team and Second Team honors in the 200 butterfly and 100 butterfly. She holds the top program time in the 100 butterfly and the second top time in the 200 butterfly.Â

Roelen, a business major, scored two All-Big 12 Second Team honors in the 1-meter and 3-meter finishing seventh in both events.Â
