Divers Named Scholar All-American Honorable Mention

NORFOLK, VA - Divers Micaela Bouter, Taylor Olanski and Danielle Shedd have been honored for their strong efforts in the classroom and they were named Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America on Wednesday.
"I am so proud of our two returning divers," Diving Coach Bob Gunter said. "They work so hard in and out of the pool, even when I can tell they are exhausted. They are very deserving of every recognition that comes their way."
Bouter, Olanski and Shedd each earned individual Scholar All-America honors by finishing the semester with a GPA over 3.50 and qualifying for the NCAA Zone Diving meet in March. Each of the Cougars also grabbed spots on the All-American Athletic Conference Team after sweeping the American Conference diving events. Bouter won the 3-meter dive, Olanski was crowned the platform champion for the third consecutive year and Shedd took home the 1-meter crown at The American Championships.
To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective diving qualifying meets. 894 student-athletes were named as Honorable Mention selections.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) - the oldest organization of college coaches in America - is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
