DALLAS -- The University of Houston Men's Golf program returns to action Monday when it competes at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate at Royal Oaks Country Club.
The Cougars will play 36 holes Monday, beginning with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start. The Final Round begins with an 8:15 a.m., split-tee start off No. 1 and No. 10 on Tuesday.
Unlike most collegiate tournaments, the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate format calls for a 6-man lineup with the lowest five scores counting toward the team total.

TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete against Charlotte, Iowa, Kent State, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Pepperdine, SMU, UT Arlington and host Baylor.
THE LINEUP
Papito Gonzalez -- Leads Cougars with 70.50 average and five rounds of par or better in 2016-17... Tied for eighth at Bayou City Collegiate Classic at 1-under-215... Opened that tournament with consecutive sub-par rounds... Opened Maui Jim Intercollegiate with career-low 67 and followed with 70... Led Cougars and tied for 13th at 5-under 208 on Sept. 23-25... Native of McAllen, Texas, and product of Memorial High School.
Michael Perras -- Third on team with 71.67 average... Tied for 13th at Bayou City Collegiate Intercollegiate at even-par 216... Tied for 36th at 215 at season-opening Maui Jim Intercollegiate in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Sept. 23-25... Was the 2016 NCAA Franklin Regional individual champion at 16-under 200... Native of Deer Park, Texas, and product of Deer Park High School.
Zach Tracy -- Making his debut with the Cougars in the team's starting lineup... Second on team with 71.33 average and three rounds of par or better... Made his collegiate debut a memorable one... Posted three straight rounds of par or better at Bayou City Collegiate Classic to lead Cougars and tie for fifth at 2-under 214... Sat out as a redshirt with the Cougars in 2015-16... Native of Houston and product of Seven Lakes High School.
George Gardner -- 71.67 average and one round of par or better... Posted the Cougars' lowest score of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic with an opening-round 68 and tied for eighth at 1-under 215... Making his debut with the Cougars in the team's starting lineup... Sat out as a redshirt with the Cougars in 2015-16... Native of Southlake, Texas, and product of Carroll High School.
Pryce Beshoory -- Making his debut with the Cougars in the team's starting lineup... Native of Pearland, Texas, and product of Lutheran South Academy... Member of Pearland Little League team, which finished fourth at 2010 Little League World Series.
Logan Davis -- 73.67 average and one round of par or better... Closed the Bayou City Collegiate Classic with a 71 and tied for 34th at 221... Native of Humble, Texas, and product of Atascocita High School.
Joshua Gibbons -- Competing as an individual... Making his season debut... Finished 2015-16 season with 74.46 average and six rounds of par or better... Tied for third at Colin Montgomerie Invitational, thanks to a career-low 66 in the Second Round... Native of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and product of Mont Kiara International School.
MONDAY TEE TIMES
For Monday's two rounds, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Baylor, Kent State and Charlotte.
Gonzalez will start his day at 8:30 a.m., Monday, off No. 1 with Perras (No. 2), Tracy (No. 3), Gardner (No. 4), Beshoory (No. 5) and Davis (No. 6) following.
LAST TIME OUT
Competing at their own Bayou City Collegiate Classic, the Cougars tied for second at 869 and placed Tracy, Gonzalez and Gardner among the top-10 individual leaders at Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas, on Oct. 10-11.
Tracy posted three straight rounds of par or better to tie for fifth at 2-under 214 during his collegiate debut, while Gardner and Gonzalez each finished at 1-under 215 to tie for eighth.
A YEAR AGO
The Cougars were scheduled to compete in this tournament a year ago, but heavy rain in the Dallas area made the course unplayable and forced the event to be canceled.
UP NEXT
Following the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, the Cougars continue their fall season when they compete at the Kaanapali Collegiate Classic on Nov. 4-6 at Kaanapali Golf Club in Lahaina, Maui, Hawai'i.
