PREVIEW: Volleyball Set to Face Tulane, Visit Memphis

HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Volleyball team will wrap up the first half of its American Athletic Conference schedule hosting Tulane in a 7 p.m. match on Wednesday inside Athletics/Alumni Center and visiting Memphis in a 7 p.m. tilt on Friday.
The Cougars (5-14, 0-8 The American) enter Wednesday looking to snap a 10-match losing streak. Houston fell to both Yale and host Rice in the Rice Adidas Invite II to close out non-conference play and have since opened league play with an 0-8 record.

• Starting Wednesday morning, mini volleyballs will be placed across the Houston campus numbered 1-100. Students can bring any volleyballs they find to the match to claim their prize. Information on available prizes will be released on the volleyball team's official Twitter account, @UHCougarVB.
• The Cougars, who are 25-41 all-time in American play, lead Tulane 30-11 (Sets: 97-52) in the all-time series and are 18-3 (Sets: 57-21) when facing the Green Wave at home. Houston has also had success against Memphis, holding a 25-13 (Sets: 41-19) advantage in the all-series and 11-7 (Sets: 39-32) mark against the Tigers in Memphis, Tenn.
• Junior setter Keandra McCardell continues to move up in the Houston record books for career assists. She currently sits seventh all-time with 2,577 career assists.
• Houston continues to lead the American Athletic Conference in service aces with 108 total and 1.52 per set.
• Freshman libero Katie Karbo ranks third in the American Athletic Conference averaging 4.39 digs per set.
