Bouter Named American Diver of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Houston redshirt freshman Micaela Bouter was named American Athletic Conference Female Diver of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday. Bouter is the first weekly winner for the Cougars this season.
The Johannesburg, South Africa native won the award on the strength of a hugely successful weekend. In a tri-meet with No. 3 Texas A&M and North Texas on October 31, Bouter finished second in both the 1-meter dive (261.75) and the 3-meter dive (263.25). One day later in a dual meet vs. No. 11 SMU, Bouter won both events, taking the 1-meter with a score of 289.20 and the 3-meter with a tally of 287.77.
Led by Bouter, Houston divers took all three podium spots in the 1-meter dive against the Mustangs.
