Farmer Named to AVCA All-Region Team

HOUSTON - University of Houston junior outside hitter Justine Farmer was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Midwest All-Region team as announced by the AVCA on Wednesday.
The El Paso native earned her first spot on the team after leading the nation through the regular season in kills per game with a 5.58 average. She finished the season leading the Cougars in kills with 606 and was second in digs with 389.
Farmer, a junior, has 1,666 career kills which rank first in career kills at UH. Her 1,264 career digs is fourth all-time. Farmer set a Cougar record for most attack attempts with 99 against Texas-San Antonio this season. She also paced the Cougars with 19 double-doubles this season
Farmer was named to the 2007 All-Conference USA First Team for the second straight time. During the season, the conference office honored Farmer by naming her the C-USA Offensive of the Week, twice.
The Cougars finished the 2007 season with a 13-15 record and 8-8 in conference play.
