HOUSTON - The University of Houston announced on Thursday afternoon that the Rice match originally slated for September 21st will be made up on Wednesday, November 2nd.
The match between crosstown foes will be played at the Athletics/Alumni Center at 7pm. The two teams will sqaure off eight days later across town at Autry Court on the Rice campus to conclude the Conference USA regular season.
This follows a Tuesday announcement of the cancellation of scheduled match-ups with Memphis and UAB. The Cougars had a tentative make-up date to play UAB on Oct. 17 in Birmingham, but it was cancelled after the Memphis match was unable to be rescheduled.
"With Memphis not coming here, we felt that it wouldn't be in our best interest to go play their travel partner (UAB)," head coach Bill Walton said. "The partners have to work together. It's only fair that everyone does the same thing."
The first tiebreaker for seedings in the C-USA Tournament is overall conference win/loss percentage of all conference matches. It does not matter how many conference matches a team plays.
