DADE CITY, Fla. - After shooting their best round of the tournament, the University of Houston golf team jumped into sixth place in the final standings on Wednesday at the 2004 Conference USA Championship at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
A day after enduring their worst round of the tournament, the Cougars went out and improved their first-day score by seven strokes, shooting 2-over-par 290 during the final 18 holes on the par-72, 7,183-yard course.

Romano was nearly equal to the task, shooting a 1-under-par 71 to join Mowbray and two others in a tie for seventh place at 219. He capped his stay at the tournament by being named to the 2004 C-USA All-Freshmen Team.
