HOUSTON - Fresh from nearly two weeks out of competitive action, the University of Houston swimming and diving team returns to action at 7 p.m., Thursday when they play host to Conference USA rival TCU at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center Natatorium.
The Cougars, who dropped their first two dual meets of the season against Texas and crosstown rival Rice, will be seeing their first action since Oct. 15-16.
Thursday's meet is free and open to the public, which is invited to attend.
Sophomore diver Anna Kiess comes into the meet on a four-event winning streak after sweeping both the 1- and 3-meter springboard events against Rice and Texas.
On the swimming side, sophomore Szintia Szanto, who set some of the school's fastest times in four different events as a true freshman, was the only Cougar to win multiple events against the Owls on Oct. 16.
Senior captain Kristin Bay posted the team's fastest time in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.63 against the Owls and was followed closely by fellow senior captain Meagan Wien, who set a new personal career best with a clocking of 24.69.
Bay also has posted the Cougars' fastest times in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke.
A year ago, the Cougars headed north to Fort Worth but dropped a 168-130 decision to the Horned Frogs.
