• Brian Bell joined University of Houston Football in January 2024 as its Offensive Analyst. The 2025 season will be his second with the program. Bell joined Houston after two seasons as Baylor’s Quality Control Coach for Defensive Analysis.
• With a new-look wide receivers room in 2024, the Cougars spread the ball around to eight different receivers including five in their first seasons at Houston. The Cougars were led by junior Stephon Johnson whose 8.3 yards after catch per reception ranked second among Big 12 wideouts.
• His move to UH reunited Bell with his former Sam Houston Head Coach, Willie Fritz. From 2010-13, with Fritz at the helm, Bell quarterbacked the Bearkats to a school-record 39 victories including consecutive NCAA Division I FCS Championship Games. He finished his career as the program’s career leader in passing yards (8,655), completions (621) and touchdown passes (84).
• Prior to joining Baylor, Bell was the head coach of China Spring High School's football program from 2018 to 2021. He was promoted to head coach after serving as an assistant coach since 2016.
• In 2021, Bell led China Spring to its first state championship since 1978, doing so by capturing the Class 4A Division II state final with a 31-7 victory over Gilmer. Bell compiled a 37-16 record in four seasons as head coach of his alma mater after succeeding his father, Mark.
• Bell led the program to the playoffs in each of his four seasons. China Spring went 11-2 in 2020 including three straight wins over Top 10 foes to open the playoffs. He was named the Waco Tribune-Herald’s Super Centex Coach of the Year following the season.
• He served as a graduate assistant for Georgia Southern in 2015, helping the Eagles go 9-4 including a 6-2 mark in Sun Belt Conference play en route to defeating Bowl Green, 58-27, to capture the GoDaddy Bowl for the program’s first bowl victory.
• Previously, Bell served as the wide receivers coach at Magnolia West High School in 2014.
• A native of China Spring, Texas, Bell is married to Taylor Bell. They have two children, Grayson and Tatum. Brian graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2013 with his bachelor's degree.
