Boswell Named to Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List

First year Cougar named to Best Center award watch list
NEW YORK – First year Houston Football center Anthony Boswell was named to the Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List on Thursday.
A 2025 Freshman All-American at Toledo, Boswell joined the Cougars in January and has cemented himself at center entering 2026. Last year, Boswell started all 12 games for Toledo and posted the 10th best offense grade by FBS centers and the third-best run-block grade among FBS centers.
Boswell didn't allow a sack in his first season seeing competition after transferring from Purdue following the 2024 season to Toledo where he earned All-MAC First-Team honors.
With Boswell's preseason recognition, two Cougar offensive linemen have been named to preseason watch lists with guard Shadre Hurst named to the Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List on Tuesday.
