Cougars split Fan Engagement, Marketing duties, hire Pledge to spearhead Fan Engagement initiatives
HOUSTON – Alundis Pledge joined the Houston Athletics department as Associate Athletics Director for Fan Engagement in July. He oversees the fan-facing aspects of game day and engages the fan base, donors, students and alumni through innovative initiatives and fan experiences that strengthen the connection between Houston Athletics and its stakeholders.
Pledge joins the Cougars following two years at Tulane University, where he played a key role in elevating the football game-day experience, including helping produce the American Conference Championship at Yulman Stadium. During his tenure, he also led digital fan engagement initiatives that helped drive revenue growth through strategic ticket sales and fundraising campaigns while launching a premium gameday fan experience program designed to enhance engagement and create added value for stakeholders.
Over his 10-year career, Houston marks Pledge's fifth Power 4 institution (Missouri, Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas A&M) and returns to Southeast Texas following a year and a half stint at Lamar where he served in a similar role as Associate AD for Marketing and Creative Services.
While at Lamar, Pledge oversaw a 10.2% increase in the Lamar Athletics accounts engagement rate and helped grow the Cardinals men's basketball attendance 145% while surpassing the department's revenue goal by 10%.
Pledge made stops at Northern Kentucky, Missouri, the Memphis Grizzlies, Oregon, Memphis, Texas A&M and Ole Miss during his career.
Pledge is an active member of National Association Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) where he serves on committees and has led fan engagement teams to secure gold and silver best practice awards at previous stops.
A 2016 graduate, Pledge earned his Bachelor of General Studies from Ole Miss before earning a Masters in Sport Management from Texas A&M in 2019.
