Cougars Continue Classroom Success with Winter Academic All-Big 12 Selections

Swimming & Diving earns 14 honorees, men’s and women’s basketball with four each

HOUSTON – Twenty-two University of Houston student-athletes from men's and women's basketball and swimming & diving were selected to the 2026 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team, the league office announced on Thursday.

Women's Swimming & Diving led the department with 14 honorees, followed by both men's and women's basketball with four each.

To qualify for the Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher and compete in at least 20% of contests. Freshmen and first-year transfers are ineligible, while seniors with at least two years of participation may be exempt from the participation requirement.
