Swimming & Diving boasts 18 Winter Academic honorees
IRVING, Texas – Twenty-nine University of Houston student-athletes from Men's and Women's Basketball and Swimming & Diving earned a spot on the 2025 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team, recognizing their success both athletically and academically.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher either cumulative or over the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20% of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
Swimming & Diving led the Cougars with 18 honorees, followed by Men's Basketball's six and Women's Basketball's five.
Houston recently announced that 10 of its athletic programs posted perfect APR scores while 14 of Houston's 15 teams scored 950 or higher. Four teams – Men's Basketball, Men's Cross Country, Women's Golf and Women's Volleyball – recorded perfect multi-year scores.
