Houston set to compete in distance events on Friday
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Houston Track & Field program will send six student-athletes to compete at the Wake Forest Invitational at Kentner Stadium on Friday. The Cougars will begin action at 11:05 a.m., CT with the men's steeplechase.
LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore Patrick Flowers will compete in the men's 3000m at 11:05 a.m., CT. Flowers set a personal best time this season of 9:16.68 at the Victor Lopez Classic in late March.
Freshman Emily Pharris will represent the Cougars in the women's 1500m set for 11:40 a.m. CT. She ran a personal best time of 4:48.56 at the 44 Farms Invitational on Saturday.
Freshman Caden Thurman and sophomore Aaron Crittenden will race in the men's 1500m at 12:15 p.m., CT.
Freshman Invida Maurina will compete in the 800m for the second time season at 6:14 p.m., CT. Maurina is the indoor 600-yard school record holder at 1:20.34 and posted a fourth-place finish in the event at the Big 12 Indoor Championship.
Senior Adam Mason is set to compete in the men's 800m at 6:24 p.m., CT. At the 44 Farms Team Invitational on Friday, Mason won the event with a time of 1:48.30 and moved up to second on Houston's all-time performance list.
