Cougars play 11-match Big 12 schedule with six contests at the Carl Lewis International Complex
HOUSTON – The Big 12 Conference and the University of Houston Soccer program announced its 2025 conference schedule on Wednesday.
In an eleven-match matrix, the Cougars will host six matches at the Carl Lewis International Complex and hit the road for the other five.
Â
Houston will face five of the seven conference foes that earned a berth to the 2024 NCAA Tournament (BYU, Colorado, TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia) including Colorado, TCU and Texas Tech who all advanced to the Second Round.
Â
The Cougars open league play at home against Cincinnati on Sept. 18, before hitting the road for a pair of contests at Texas Tech (Sept. 25) and Colorado (Sept. 28).
Â
Houston returns to the Carl Lewis International Complex to host BYU (Oct. 2) and Utah (Oct. 5) prior to road contests at West Virginia (Oct. 10) and Iowa State (Oct. 16).
Â
The Scarlet & White open a three-match homestand when it welcomes UCF (Oct. 19), Kansas State (Oct. 23) and Baylor (Oct. 26) before wrapping the regular season on Oct. 30 at TCU.
Â
The top eight teams in the conference will compete in the Big 12 Soccer Championship from Nov. 3 to Nov. 8. Quarterfinal and Semifinal action will take place at TCU's Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium while Baylor's Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field will host the Championship match.
Â
Houston returns 16 letterwinners from a season ago and added 11 newcomers between its four freshmen and seven transfers.
Â
Head Coach Ben Williams enters his first season at the helm of the Cougars after one successful season at SFA where he won the Southland Conference regular season and tournament titles. Williams guided the Lady Jacks to the program's fourth NCAA Tournament, falling to five-seed TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.
Â
Houston's non-conference schedule as well as times and ticket information will be available soon.
