HOUSTON – Winners of 19 of its last 20 games, the #5/5 University of Houston Men's Basketball program makes a quick return to action when it faces #9/10 Texas Tech at 8 p.m., Monday, inside United Supermarket Arena.
The game features two of the Big 12 Conference's Top-Three teams. #5/5 Houston leads the league with a 15-1 league mark while Texas Tech is tied for second with Arizona at 12-4.
The Cougars' 15 conference wins this season is tied for fourth in school single-season history and trails only 2022-23 (17-1, American Athletic), 2018-19 (16-2, American Athletic) and 1982-83 (16-0, Southwest).
Houston enters Monday's game following a 68-59 win over #8/8 Iowa State inside Fertitta Center on Saturday afternoon. Graduate guard LJ Cryer led all players with 28 points – his team-leading sixth 20-point game of the season – and drained five 3-pointers while junior point guard Milos Uzan added 19 points with four rebounds.
It was Houston's 36th home win in its last 37 games inside Fertitta Center and pushed the Cougars' all-time mark in their home facility to 107-7.
In addition to their success in front of the hometown fans, Houston has enjoyed success on the road. The Cougars have won their last 12 road games to lead the nation and set a Big 12 Conference record.
Monday's game will be the second of two regular-season meetings against the Red Raiders. Texas Tech took an 82-81 win in overtime inside Fertitta Center earlier this month to halt the Cougars' 33-game home winning streak.
