Soccer signs Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Year
HOUSTON – 2025 Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, Sierra McCluer joins the University of Houston Soccer team for the 2026 season, Head Coach Ben Williams announced Thursday.
"Sierra's versatility and presence made her an immediate impact player at SFA," Williams said. "She's battle-tested in NCAA play and brings the composure, athleticism, and shot-stopping quality of a top collegiate keeper. We are honored to bring Sierra back home to showcase her ability in front of family, friends, and community.
McCluer reunites with Williams after a standout two seasons at SFA where she was twice tabbed as the Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Week and as well as First Team All-Southland on her way to earning 2025 Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. She also posted Southland All-Tournament team honors in 2025.
In two seasons with the Ladyjacks, McCluer tallied 131 saves, 18 wins, 15 shutouts and an .862 save percentage. She tallied a career-high 10 saves three times in her career with the first being in a 1-0 loss to TCU in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament in 2024.
The Katy, Texas, native was twice named the Cinco Ranch Women's Soccer All MVP as well as Academic All-State. McCluer earned All-District Goalkeeper distinctions as a senior.
McCluer was a team captain with the Albion Hurricanes where she helped the team to the North American Cup National Finals while earning ECNL All-Conference.
