Samira Minor Earns Big 12 Postseason Honors

Freshman Samira Minor named to All-Big 12 Second and Freshman Teams
IRVING, Texas – University of Houston Soccer standout Samira Minor was named to the Big 12 Second and All-Freshman Teams, the conference announced Tuesday.
Minor is the second player to earn Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors, and the first Cougar to be named to either the All-Big 12 First or Second Teams in program history.
The rookie led the Cougars and all Big 12 freshman with six goals on the season and five in conference play.Â
Minor appeared in all 18 of the Cougar's contests this season while making 15 starts including starting every conference game.
The Frisco, Texas, native scored a pair of goals in a 3-1 win over Cincinnati for Houston's first Big 12 Conference opening victory since joining the league in 2023.
Following that performance, she garnered Big 12 Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week honors, marking the first time a Big 12 soccer player had won multiple Big 12 weekly honors in the same week since 2021.
