HOUSTON – Ready for its third game in an eight-day stretch, the #14/14 University of Houston Men's Basketball program prepares to host Big 12 Conference rival TCU at 8 p.m., Monday, inside Fertitta Center in a game presented by HEB.
Houston (10-3, 2-0 Big 12) enters its Big Monday showdown after an impressive 86-55 win over BYU inside Fertitta Center on Saturday afternoon. It was the Cougars' sixth straight win and marked the sixth straight game in which it held an opponent under to 55 or fewer points.
Junior guard Emanuel Sharp buried four 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 18 points while sophomore guard Terrance Arceneaux drained a career-high four treys of his own on the way to 15 points with a game-high-tying six rebounds to lead the Cougars to their second-biggest win over BYU in the series history.
Sharp joins with graduate guard LJ Cryer in giving the Cougars one of the nation's top 3-point shooting backcourts. Sharp and Cryer rank among the Big 12's Top-Eight leaders in both 3-point field goals per game and 3-point field goal percentage, making Houston the only school to earn that distinction.
Junior point guard Milos Uzan continues to be an offensive leader for Houston in his first season in the Red and White. The Las Vegas native dished out eight assists with no turnovers and added seven points and a pair of steals against BYU.
It was the eighth game in which Uzan posted one or fewer turnovers this season. During the Cougars' six-game winning streak, Uzan has handed out 30 assists with only four giveaways and now leads the Big 12 and ranks fourth in the nation with a 4.0 assist-turnover ratio.
