Bryant Hiskey II Paces Men’s Golf at Bayou City Collegiate Classic

Junior fires third straight round of par or lower to tie for 23rd and lead Cougars
HOUSTON – University of Houston Men's Golf junior Bryant Hiskey II fired his third straight round of par or better to lead the Cougars and tie for 24th following the Final Round of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at Westwood Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
After posting back-to-back 71s in the first two rounds on the 7,184-yard, par-72 course Monday, Hiskey sank four birdies on the way to a 72 in the Final Round.
With his performance, Hiskey set personal bests for 36-hole (142) and 54-hole scores (214) as well as low score relative to par (-2).
The Bayou City Collegiate Classic was a recent addition to the Cougars' fall schedule with Hiskey joining sophomore Grant Doggett and junior Ruben Lindsay as individual competitors.
Doggett tied for 40th at 219 while Lindsay tied for 75th at 233.
Sam Houston won the team championship with a score of 837 to finish two shots ahead of Abilene Christian. Host Rice (841), ULM (851) and Wichita State (861) rounded out the Top-Five leaders.
LSU's Noah McWilliams defeated Rice teammates Lukas Boandl and Daniel Zou on the third hole of a playoff to earn medalist honors after all three tied at 12-under 204.
Preston Cooper (Abilene Christian) and Louis Anceaux (ULM) tied for fourth at 206.

Following the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, Houston tees off at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas on Oct. 7-9. A year ago, the Cougars upset No. 2 seed Oklahoma in the First Round and finished fourth.
The Cougars then close their fall season at the White Sands Intercollegiate at The Ocean Club in Paradise Island, Bahamas, on Oct. 25-27.
