Cougars head to Memphis to begin postseason
HOUSTON - The University of Houston Cross Country team will head to Memphis for the 2019 American Athletic Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1 at the Shelby Farms Park.
ABOUT THE 2019 AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP
The men's 8K race is set to begin at 10 a.m. CT and will be immediately followed by the women's 6K at 10:50 a.m. CT. The men's course map can be found by clicking HERE and the women's course map can be found HERE.
The event will be streamed live via The American Digital Network on Facebook. To watch click HERE.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
The Houston women are coming off a 12th-place team finish at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational as Jahnavi Schneider led the team with a 17th-place finish. The Cougars have won two meets this season and head into the postseason ranked fifth in the South Central Region.
On the men's side, the squad is coming off a seventh-place team finish at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. Jemal Wote led the Cougars for the second time this season with a team-high 14th-place finish, as he came off of American Athletic Conference Runner of the Week honors. The men enter the postseason sitting at seventh in the South Central Region.
